Outsole abrasion test

For our leather outsoles, the wear resistance tests are entrusted to SATRA Footwear Technology Centre. The principle is one of abrasion by rubbing. The outer soles are tested with abrasive paper : this reproduces, by means of the rubbing action, the phenomena which are responsible for the wear of leather soles.
The results of these tests are the basis for the calculation of sole wear resistance. This abrasion test is based on SATRA PM 84 method.
